At present, the logistics and transportation of China-Russia transit Kazakhstan is about 10 million tons per year. Road traffic from Russia to China was banned a few years ago, but it is starting to take off, and the two countries are exporting goods to each other in close proximity as Chinese imports of Russian goods begin to shrink. Experts had previously predicted that cargo volumes between China and Russia would increase amid tensions with the West, Ukraine and Turkey, but the figure remained at the same level as last year in the first quarter of 2016. The biggest advantage of transporting goods to China from the Siberian Federal District is that the transportation distance is shortened and customs taxes are reduced.
